The basics

What is House of Videos?

House of Videos makes finished videos from an idea: for your YouTube channel, for Shorts, TikTok and Reels, or a story for your kids. On Home, tell Homie, our assistant, what you want to make in your own words. Homie asks a quick question or two if something is missing and shows you the plan. Then we write the script, record the narration, make the pictures and the clips, add music, captions and graphics, and edit the final cut.

You stay in charge: the video stops at each step so you can approve it or ask for changes.

What kinds of videos can I make?

Describe what you want and Homie chooses the right kind for it. You see it on the plan card, and you can change it in Create:

A narrated story: a hero, a turn and an ending. Available on every plan and for the free film.

A narrated explainer: how something works, with pictures that show it.

An animated story for kids: warm, with a lesson, in one of eight drawn styles (Storybook, Crayon, Paper cut-out, Classic 2D, 3D, Brick, Clay, Felt). Opens after your first payment.

Pictures and music, no narrator. Opens after your first payment.

Editing your own footage is coming soon, in the Editing Room.

How long can a film be, and in what format?

From 15 seconds to 12 minutes. Say it in your message ("a 60-second Short", "about 8 minutes"), or change it in Create. If you don't say, Homie picks a length that fits where you'll post it.

The screen is Horizontal (YouTube, 16:9) or Vertical (Shorts, TikTok, Reels, 9:16), chosen from where you'll post it. It is fixed once production starts, but when the video is finished you can also make a vertical or horizontal copy for social media.

How long does it take to make a film?

The script is ready in a few minutes. After that, most of the time is spent waiting for your approvals. A video clip usually takes under 6 minutes to make; if one takes more than 10 minutes, it is made again automatically.

A 1-minute film with quick approvals is usually done within an hour. Longer films take longer, mainly because there are more scenes to make and approve.

Making a film

How is a video made, step by step?

1. On Home, tell Homie what you want to make, or tap a shortcut. Answer the one or two questions it asks, check the plan card, and press Start. 2. Script: what is said, scene by scene. Approve it, edit it, or ask for a rewrite. 3. Voice: the narration, one take per scene. 4. Images: one picture for each scene. 5. Clips: each picture becomes a moving clip. 6. Finishing: check captions, music, graphics and the final settings, then render. 7. Ready: watch, download, and get copies for social.

The bar at the top of each video shows where it is. "Waiting for you" in the menu lists every step you need to approve, across all your videos.

Do I have to approve every step?

By default, yes: every step waits for you, and nothing is made after it until you approve. This is the normal way, and it means you never pay for clips of a script you did not want.

If you prefer, press "Change something" on the plan card (or open Create) and choose which steps approve themselves (Script, Scenes, Voice, Images, Clips, Final render). Automatic steps sign off by themselves while the video's page is open.

What if I don't like a scene, a picture, a voice take or a clip?

At each step you can change it before you approve it:

Script: edit the text yourself, or press "Ask for a rewrite" and say what should change. Then approve or rewrite each scene. Voice: "Record again", change the line, the pace or the delivery. Images and clips: "Make it again", or edit the description they were made from. Earlier versions are kept, so you can go back to one.

Can I pause, restart or delete a film?

Pause and Resume are in the film's header. Pausing stops the work; nothing is lost that was already approved.

While the script is being written, the button reads "Pause writing". After a pause there, it becomes "Restart writing", which writes the script again from the start. It asks you to confirm, because it replaces the scenes.

To delete, select videos in your Library and choose delete. A deleted film gives back any credits it was holding.

Can I make a series for my channel?

Yes. Channels keeps a series together: the same characters, look and voice, episode after episode. Start one from any finished video, then make the next episode from the channel's page. Scheduled episodes and posting for you are not available yet.

Where do I see what needs my approval?

"Waiting for you" in the menu lists every step that waits for you, across all your videos, with a count. Open one, approve it or ask for a change, and the video carries on.

Can I choose the details myself?

Yes. The plan card shows what Homie chose: the type of video, screen, length, voice and cost. Press "Change something" to open Create, where Homie's choices are filled in beside every setting. You can also open Create from the menu and set it up yourself:

Direction: the angle, things that must appear, a video that inspired you, facts to respect, and a reference photo for the first scene. Length and screen. Narrator: voice, language, delivery and fine-tuning. Tone, look and pace. Video model. Captions: on or off, colour and motion. Graphics, transitions, chapter cards, drawn cards and end screen. Opening and ending. Which steps approve themselves.

Can I use my own photo or footage?

You can add one reference photo for the first scene (JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 6 MB), and a link to a video that inspired you. We make the rest of the pictures and clips. Uploading your own footage to be edited is coming soon, in the Editing Room.

Problems and fixes

My video seems stuck. What do I do?

First look at the bar at the top of the video:

Waiting for you: a step needs your approval. Open it from "Waiting for you" in the menu. Being made: it is still working. Pictures take about a minute, clips usually under 6 minutes. Give it a few minutes; the page updates by itself. Paused: press "Resume production".

If nothing moves for more than 15 minutes and nothing waits for you, press "Resume production". It keeps everything already made and only makes what is missing. If it still does not move, use the contact form and give the video's name.

Why is a clip taking so long?

A clip usually takes under 6 minutes. The box on the scene shows how long it has been. If a clip goes past 10 minutes, it is made again by itself, and you can also press "Send it again".

Please don't pause the video to hurry it: pausing throws away the clip in progress and the wait starts again from zero.

A picture or clip was refused. Why, and what do I do?

The services that make pictures and clips refuse some content. The scene then shows a box with the reason and what to do, and keeps what it had before. A note starting with "REJECTED" is that reason.

A clip refused because of its picture: almost always a clearly visible face. Make the picture again with people seen from behind, in silhouette or at a distance; the clip follows. A clip refused for its sound: we try it again automatically. If it still fails, make the picture again. A picture that looks like someone else's character, brand or logo: we draw a new one automatically. If it happens again, press "Make it again" and ask for a plain, unbranded look. A picture refused: press "Make it again" and say what should change, or edit its description.

The same picture and wording are refused the same way every time, so change something before you try again. Refused work is not charged.

My video stopped with an error. Is my work lost?

No. Everything you approved and everything already made is kept. Press "Resume production" at the top of the video: it carries on and only makes what is missing. Work that fails is never charged.

If it stops again in the same place, use the contact form with the video's name and the step it stopped on.

The final render stopped. What now?

Your scenes, voice and clips are all safe. In Finishing, press "Restart the render": it only puts the approved clips together again and makes nothing new. You can also press "← Back to Final touches" to change a setting first.

While a render runs, the other steps are locked. To change something, stop the render with "Stop the render".

Does "Make it again" cost credits?

When a video starts, it reserves a little more than its estimate, to cover a few remakes and refusals. Remakes are taken from that reservation, and you are not asked to pay for each one. Refused or failed work is never charged, and whatever the video does not use goes back to your balance when it is finished.

Why can't I choose Kids story, a longer video or another video model?

The free film is a 30-second Story, made with Veo 3.1 Lite. Kids stories, music-only videos, longer videos and the other video models open after your first payment (a pack, a paid film or a plan).

Until you have paid, at most 2 videos can wait for payment at a time. Pay for or delete one to start another.

What is the Editing Room?

The Editing Room is where you will upload your own footage and we edit it into a finished video: cutting, captions, music and copies for social. It is not open yet and shows "Soon" in the menu.

The final settings of a video made from an idea (captions, music, graphics) are in its Finishing step.

A page says "Something went wrong".

Nothing you made is lost. Press "Try again". If it keeps happening, press "Tell us" and include the code shown on the page, so the team can find what happened.

Models, voices and music

Which AI models make my video?

You choose the video model in the brief:

Veo 3.1 Lite (the default, the lowest price) Veo 3.1 Fast Kling Seedance

Each has its own price in credits per minute of film; the brief shows it next to each choice. Kids stories use Kling or Seedance. The pictures for each scene are made by an image model chosen for you. The script is written by an AI language model.

Which voices can I use?

The narration is made with ElevenLabs voices. You can search by name and filter Female or Male, choose the language, choose a delivery (Calm, Broadcast, Storyteller and others), and fine-tune it.

Some voices cannot be used for customer films, for example famous voices or cloned voices. If you pick one, the brief tells you and asks for another.

Where does the music come from?

Every film gets background music from our library, chosen to fit the film, with sound effects on top. You can change the music and effects levels in the brief or in the Editing Room, and after the film is done with "Sound and speed".

Uploading your own music is not available yet. The music licence terms for publishing are (pending).

Credits and payment

How do credits work?

A film costs credits per minute of film, depending on the video model. The brief shows "About N credits" before you start.

When production starts, those credits are reserved for the film. Each piece of work is then charged as it is made. Anything that fails is never charged. When the film is finished, whatever it did not use goes back to your balance.

A film that is waiting for your approval keeps its reservation, however long it waits.

How much does it cost?

All prices below are drafts and may change (pending).

Credits per minute of film: Veo 3.1 Lite 150, Veo 3.1 Fast 350, Kling 380, Seedance 760.

Monthly plans: Creator $49 (460 credits), Studio $149 (1,400 credits), Agency $449 (4,250 credits).

Credit packs: 250 credits for $29, 1,000 for $112, 3,000 for $320.

Pay per film: about $0.13 a credit, at least $0.50 a film.

What is the difference between the plans?

Every plan gives you credits each month. Higher plans also let you make more films at the same time and put your films earlier in the queue.

Creator: 1 film at a time, a small "Made with House of Videos" corner mark. Studio: 2 films at a time, no mark. Agency: 4 films at a time, no mark.

Prices and amounts are drafts (pending).

Packs, plans or pay per film: which should I choose?

A plan suits you if you make films every month. Unused plan credits carry over for one more month (up to twice your monthly amount), and they are spent before pack credits.

A pack suits occasional use: pack credits never expire.

Pay per film is for a single film: you pay for that film when it starts. If it uses less than it was paid for, the rest stays on your account as credits that never expire.

What if I don't have enough credits?

The film does not start. The brief shows "Add credits to start" (or a button to pay for this one film) until your balance covers it. Your script is already written before you pay, so nothing is lost while you decide.

An account that has never paid can keep at most 2 films waiting for payment. To start a third, pay for or delete one of them first.

Is there a free trial?

Yes: one free film per account. It is a 30-second Story, made with Veo 3.1 Lite, with a watermark. Kids stories and Cinematic films open after your first payment.

To unlock it, add a card before your first film, on the new-film page or in Settings → Billing. It opens the secure payment page, and nothing is charged. A card can unlock the free film only once, even on another account.

Can I get a refund?

Anything that fails while your film is made is never charged, and credits a film did not use go back to your balance automatically.

For money back on a payment, write to help@houseofvideos.com. When a payment is refunded, the credits it bought are taken back from your balance. The right of withdrawal and refunds of unused credits are (pending) review.

Where are my invoices, and how do I change my card or cancel my plan?

In Settings → Billing, "Card, invoices and plan" opens the secure payment portal. There you can see invoices, change your card, or cancel your plan. If you cancel, a film that is already running still finishes on the credits it reserved.

"Credit history" shows every credit added, held, used and given back. Romanian e-Factura invoices are (pending).

How does "Invite a friend" work?

Settings → Billing has your personal invite link. When a friend signs up through it and makes their first real payment (a pack, a paid film or a plan month, but not the free film), you both get bonus credits: 100 for you, 50 for them. You can earn at most 10 rewards a month. Bonus credits never expire. The amounts are drafts (pending).

Your films

How do I download my film?

When the video is finished, its last step, Ready, has "Download the film". You can also download the narration only, or open the film in a new tab.

"For social" makes a vertical 9:16 or horizontal 16:9 copy with the captions burned in, ready for TikTok, Reels, Shorts or YouTube.

Who owns my films? Can I use them commercially?

Your films are yours, including for commercial use. We do not publish your films or use them for promotion without asking you first.

The final legal wording is under review (pending).

Will my film have a watermark?

The free film has a watermark. On the Creator plan there is a small "Made with House of Videos" mark in a corner. Studio and Agency films have no mark.

Once you have paid for anything (a pack, a film or a plan month), your films no longer carry the free film's watermark. Films paid with packs or per film, without a Studio or Agency plan, get the same small corner mark as Creator.

Can House of Videos post my film to YouTube for me?

Not yet. You download the film and upload it yourself. The film page has a Publishing panel where you can keep the title, description, thumbnail notes and the YouTube link, so the details stay together. It does not post anything.

Will I know when a film needs me?

Yes. The bell at the top of every page lists what happened. You can also turn on emails in Settings → Notifications: one when a film is waiting for your approval, one when a film is ready, and a weekly summary on Monday mornings. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Account and privacy

How do I create an account or reset my password?

Sign up with your name, email and a password of at least 10 characters, or with Google. You must be 18 or older.

If you forget your password, use "Forgot your password?" on the login page: the link lasts one hour. After 8 wrong passwords in a row, the account is locked for 15 minutes.

What do you do with my data?

We keep what is needed to run your account and make your films: your name, email, your briefs and films, and your payments (card details stay with Stripe, our payment provider). We use only the cookies the site needs to work; there are no advertising or tracking cookies.

The services that help make your films (hosting, payments, email, AI script, voice, picture and video models) are listed in the Privacy notice. We do not sell your information and do not use it for advertising.

How do I delete my account?

In Settings → Account, choose "Delete my account" and type DELETE. Only an owner of the account can do this. You are logged out everywhere at once. 14 days later your films, their files, your series and your people are deleted for good, any plan stops and your remaining credits are lost. Until then, log in and choose "Keep my account" to stop it. Our backups are cleared within 14 days after that. Payment records stay with us, as the law requires for accounting.

To get a copy of your data first, choose "Download my data" in Settings → Account: one file with your films (scripts, scenes and file links), series, playlists, email choices, messages to us and billing history.

Is there anything I can't make?

Yes. You may not make videos that are illegal or sexualise minors in any way; that impersonate or deceive, such as presenting a real person as saying or doing something they did not; that harass, threaten or incite hatred or violence; that infringe someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights; or that spread fraud, spam or misinformation presented as fact. The full rules are in the Terms.

The AI services we use may also refuse a picture or clip on their own. If that happens, change the scene's description and make it again.

How do I contact you?

For help with your videos, credits or account, write to help@houseofvideos.com. For anything else, contact@houseofvideos.com. To report a film or content that breaks the rules, write to help@houseofvideos.com.
